The following details have been gleaned from the extensive Wagoneer World literature collection, which includes original dealer brochures, news articles, books, first-hand research through Jeep and the Jeep history archives, interviews with current and former Jeep employees, and other official sources. While we can't guarantee the accuracy of all details 100%, this information represents what we believe to be a complete and comprehensive compilation. We are proud to do our small part to help preserve and promote the great history of the Jeep Wagoneer and its amazing 29-year production run from 1963 to 1991. 1991 Grand Wagoneer (Produced: 4,253 ... vs. the widely reported 1,560 production count)

  • Interior Color Options: Dark Sand, Cordovan
  • Exterior Color Options: Bright White, Black, Black Cherry Pearl Coat, Dark Cordovan Pearl Coat, Spinnaker Blue Metallic, Midnight Blue Metallic, Hunter Green Metallic, Silver Star Metallic, and Gray Mist Metallic.
  • Notes: Final Edition Year/Limited Production.
  • VIN number and production verifications confirm rather than the widely referenced 1,560 number of 91's the actual number of model year 1991's off the assembly line is 4,253 (still the lowest count for a model year of Grand Wagoneer production).
  • For original owner's who requested one, the '91's came equipped with a Final Edition interior badge.

1990 Grand Wagoneer (Produced: 6,449)

1989 Grand Wagoneer (Produced: 10,159)

  • Exterior Color Options: Bright White, Black, Black Cherry Pearl Coat, Sand Metallic, Sterling Metallic, Dover Gray Metallic, and Dark Baltic Blue Metallic.
  • Notes: Model Change Year -- highlights include the addition of an overhead console with map lights, temperature and compass, remote-control entry system, the addition of a rear window wiper/washer and a tailgate protective cap.

1988 Grand Wagoneer (Produced: 14,117)

  • Notes: First year where all exterior paint options include a clearcoat. An upgraded audio system and new optional power sunroof highlight changes in '88.

1987 Grand Wagoneer (Produced: 14,265)

  • Notes: Very subtle changes, including new interior colors and removal of the door pull on the interior door panels. Last year to use wheels with gold inlays. Historic year as Chrysler bought American Motors Company and the Jeep brand.

  • Exterior color options: Sand Tan, Golden Ginger, Mocha Brown, Loden Green, Alpine White, Classic Black, Pewter Gray Metallic, Firecracker Red, Sunshine Yellow, Autumn Red Metallic, and Captain Blue Metallic.
  • Notes: 1) Jeep introduces the Wagoneer Limited model -- described as a huge success, the introduction of the Limited positioned the Wagoneer line as upscale vs. competing vehicles from Ford and Chevy. 2) The Limited included all the standard features on Wagoneers such as Quadra-Trac, power steering, disc brakes, automatic transmission and carpeting. The Limited also added, as standard features, real leather front bucket seats, cruise control, air conditioning, tinted glass, power tailgate window, AM/FM/CB radio, roof rack, leather-wrapped steering wheel, forged aluminum wheels with a 4-barrel, 401-V8 as an option over the standard 2-barrel, 360-V8.
